  • Ensuring participants have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific ride-on roller they will operate.
  • Enabling participants to locate and identify the major components and key controls of the ride-on roller, along with explaining their functions.
  • Instructing participants in conducting pre-operational checks in compliance with manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • Educating participants on identifying and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for roller use.
  • Providing hands-on training in preparing the roller for operation, safe and efficient machine operation, and conducting essential safety checks at the work area.
  • Covering environmental considerations, including awareness of potential environmental impacts.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
  • Familiarizing participants with end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

The NPORS Ride on Roller (N214) course covers the following specific areas:

Upon successful completion of the NPORS Ride on Roller (N214) course, participants will receive an NPORS certification. This certification is valid for five years and attests to the holder’s competence in operating ride-on rollers safely and efficiently, as well as their understanding of industry hazards and responsibilities.

Course Duration: The course duration varies from one to three days, depending on the experience level of the participants. Those with limited or no experience may require a longer duration, while experienced operators have the option to attend a one-day Experienced Worker Assessment (Test Only).

Entry Requirements: Participants are required to provide proof supporting their application, including passing the CITB health, safety, and environmental touch screen test within two years prior to applying. Additionally, a good understanding of spoken and written English is essential for successful course completion.
