NPORS Plant Mover (N132)

he primary objectives of this training are to:

• Provide participants with a basic understanding of the industry, the associated hazards, and their responsibilities as plant machinery operators.
• Familiarize participants with the manufacturer’s handbook specific to the machinery they will be moving.
• Equip participants with the knowledge to locate and identify the major components and key controls of the machinery, explaining their functions.
• Instruct participants on conducting pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
• Ensure participants can identify and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suitable for plant mover tasks.
• Prepare participants to safely and efficiently prepare machinery for use and operate it.
• Train participants to conduct essential safety checks at the work area, including considering environmental factors.
• Address storage and transport procedures for machinery attachments.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for transporting machinery.
• Familiarize participants with end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

The NPORS Plant Mover (N132) Course includes the following key topics:

• Industry understanding, hazard awareness, and operator responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific machinery to be moved.
• Identification and explanation of major components and key controls.
• Pre-operational checks in compliance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
• Selection and maintenance of appropriate PPE for plant mover tasks.
• Machinery preparation and safe operation.
• Safety checks at the work area and environmental considerations.
• Procedures for storage and transport of machinery attachments.
• Loading and unloading procedures for machinery transportation.
• End-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

Upon successful completion of the NPORS Plant Mover (N132) Training, participants will receive an NPORS certification valid for 5 years. This certification verifies their competence in safely moving plant machinery, understanding industry regulations, and fulfilling operator responsibilities.
