  3. Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
  4. Locate and identify key controls and explain their functions.
  5. Set up exclusion zones for safe crane operation.
  6. Identify and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) suitable for overhead crane use.
  7. Conduct comprehensive pre-operational and running checks following manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
  8. Prepare the overhead crane for safe use.
  9. Operate the machine safely and efficiently.
  10. Consider environmental factors during crane operation.
  11. Perform all necessary end-of-work and shutdown procedures for the overhead crane.

Entry Requirements: Candidates must meet certain entry requirements for this course:

  1. Proof of passing the CITB health, safety, and environmental touch screen test within two years prior to application.
  2. A good understanding of spoken and written English.
