NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the industry and the associated hazards.
2. Recognize their responsibilities as operators within the industry.
3. Familiarize themselves with the manufacturer’s handbook for the specific forward tipping dumper to be used.
4. Locate and identify major components and key controls of the dumper, explaining their functions.
5. Conduct pre-operational checks in compliance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
6. Identify and properly maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) suitable for forward tipping dumper use.
7. Prepare the forward tipping dumper for safe operation and operate it efficiently.
8. Conduct necessary safety checks at the work area.
9. Attach and set trailers for operation.
10. Consider environmental factors.
11. Understand storage and transportation of implements and attachments.
12. Perform end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.
