First Aid at Work

The primary objective of this qualification is to equip Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to handle a variety of first aid scenarios. It aims to prepare individuals to assume the role of a first aider in the workplace, enhancing their ability to respond effectively to various medical emergencies and conditions.

• Incident Assessment: Techniques for assessing an incident.
• Management of an Unresponsive Casualty: Procedures for managing an unresponsive individual.
• CPR and Heart Attacks: Training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and handling heart attack situations.
• Choking: Methods to assist a choking individual.
• Head and Spinal Injuries: Approaches to deal with head and spinal injuries.
• Fractures: Management of fractures.
• Anaphylaxis: Treatment of severe allergic reactions.
• Additional First Aid Situations: Dealing with a broader range of first aid emergencies.

• Age Requirement: Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training.
• Literacy and Numeracy: It is recommended (but not mandatory) that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or an equivalent qualification to benefit fully from the training.
