CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course (TWCTC)

Course Summary:

The CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course (TWCTC) is a comprehensive two-day program specifically designed for individuals responsible for managing all forms of temporary works on construction sites. This course aims to instill confidence in senior management and those engaging contractors by ensuring a standard of knowledge that is both assessed and robust. It focuses on the critical nature of temporary works, which are often both safety and business-critical, necessitating meticulous coordination. The course underscores the importance of the 4Cs – communication, coordination, cooperation, and competency, alongside risk management, safety, and business relations, to equip Temporary Works Coordinators (TWCs) with a thorough understanding of their duties and the roles of others. It also delves into the specifics of BS5975:2019 and its relevance to the TWC role.

The main goal of the TWCTC is to focus on the coordination process of temporary works, emphasizing the role of the TWC. The course is not primarily a technical awareness program but includes technical elements essential for temporary works. It aims to enhance understanding of risk management in temporary works, specifically focusing on procedural controls as outlined in BS 5975:2019.
