CITB SSSTS-R – Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme – Refresher

The SSSTS-R course aims to enable site supervisors to:

• Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role.
• Develop a deeper understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety, and welfare of workers.
• Recognize the importance of maintaining a safe, efficient, economical, productive, and environmentally friendly site.

• Updates on health, safety, welfare, and environmental legislation affecting site supervision.
• Reinforcement of legal responsibilities and accountability in site management.
• Overview of recent changes in procedures and best practices in site supervision.
• Comprehensive review of the original SSSTS course content.
• Online learning options via interactive Video Online Learning on Zoom for remote learners.
• Mandatory full attendance for successful course completion.

  • Validity: 5 years
  • Requirements include full attendance and active participation.
  • Course publications include ‘Construction Site Supervision (GE706)’ and ‘Toolbox Talks (GT700)’.
  • Familiarisation with Zoom and other digital tools required for online course participation.

  Entry Requirements

  • Eligibility is restricted to those who have previously passed the SSSTS course.
  • Valid SSSTS certification is required as proof of previous course completion.
  • Photographic ID (e.g., Driving Licence or Passport) is needed for verification at the start of the course.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary, as per CITB requirements.
  • Delegates unable to provide proof of their previous certification may need to attend the full SSSTS course.
